Laatste week 4591 nieuwe gevallen Mexicaanse Griep
Deze week zijn er 4591 nieuwe gevallen van de Mexicaanse Griep geconstateerd. Het aantal mensen dat aan het H1N1 virus is overleden is gestegen met 47. Wereldwijd zijn er nu bijna 95.000 gevallen van de Mexicaanse Griep ontdekt en zijn er 429 mensen aan overleden.
Dit blijkt uit het laatste overzicht van de WHO (World Health Organisation).
Ondertussen is ook het virus geïdentificeerd dat resistent lijkt voor Oseltamivir (Tamiflu). De 3 personen die dit virus droegen zijn allemaal genezen. Op basis van de onderzoeksresultaten kan worden geconcludeerd dat er geen risico bestaat dat dit virus, dat overigens niet resistent lijkt tegen Zanamivir (Relenza), epidemische vormen aan zal nemen.
